Landau Forte College Derby has been awarded the School Mental Health Award, as delivered by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools. The school was awarded Gold standard – the only secondary school in Derbyshire to achieve this. Our trainee teacher well-being is paramount and trainees have a great support network.
The training year is a challenging but rewarding year but there is always time for laughter. Trainees can attend regular well-being drop in sessions to improve their organisation and try out mindfulness and yoga sessions and extra-curricular events are organised throughout the year to build team spirit and a good support network of colleagues that you can lean on for the rest of your career.
We are also very proud to have access to the Student Services at the University of Derby, who can provide additional Mental Health Support.
